South Texas ISL Amenable Uranium Deposits

Map of the occurrence of significant uranium ore bodies in south Texas that have been evaluated for or actually produced using In Situ Leach Mining technology.  The original map is at a scale of 1:500,000 and was produced from data derived from a number of published and unpublished sources.

Geostatistical Interpretation of Geochemical Data
Geochemical Distribution of Copper, Lead, Zinc, Silver, Gold, and Arsenic in stream sediments within the Spokane and Wallace 1 x 2 degree quadrangles (1:250,000) , WA, ID, &, MT.

This map presents a geochemical comparison of uranium, and an aggregate of copper+lead+zinc (base metals), and silver+gold+arsenic (precious metals and an associated metal) over the Coeur d' Alene Mining District and its surrounding area..  The stream sediment sampling adn analytical program was completed as part of the 1974-1984 Federal - National Uranium Resource Evaluation program.  From the mapped area 3,542 samples were collected and analyzed.  From that raw data a geostatistical analysis was completed using E.S.R.I.'s  ArcMap program.  Anomalous concentrations can be seen in and around known mining areas as well as anomalous locations that may be unrelated to previous active mining sites.  Are followup field investigations warranted?

GIS data manipulation and presentations can open new pathways for the evaluation of old areas.

Mottos and Thoughts

Face piles of trials with smiles,
it riles them to believe
that you perceive
the tangled web they weave,
so -
Keep on thinking Free!!

A good map can sell a BAD prospect, but a bad map can't sell a Good one!!!

Ore is rock that can be mined, processed, and yield a product that is sold for a profit!

A successful exploration geologist is more excited finding ore than collecting mineral crystals!

Insight comes from seeing the forest and understanding its trees at the same time!
